Understanding Range Status
Range Visualization:
The range indicator shows:
- Green: Position is in range (earning fees)
- Red: Position is out of range (not earning fees)
- Yellow: Position is near range boundaries
Range Components Explained:
Entry Ratio:
- The price ratio (Token A/Token B) when you entered
- Used as the baseline for range calculations
- Example: ETH/USDC at 2000 means 1 ETH = 2000 USDC
Range Percentages:
- Upper Range: How far above entry price your liquidity extends
- Lower Range: How far below entry price your liquidity extends
- Current Range: Where the current price sits within your range
Range Examples:
ETH/USDC Position:
- Entry Ratio: 2000 (1 ETH = 2000 USDC)
- Upper Range: +25% (active until 2500 USDC)
- Lower Range: -20% (active until 1600 USDC)
If current ETH price is 2200 USDC:
- Status: IN RANGE ✅
- Range utilization: 40% of range used
- Still earning trading fees
What In Range vs Out of Range Means:
In Range:
- Your liquidity is active and providing depth to the pool
- You earn trading fees when swaps occur
- Both tokens in your position are being utilized
- Position is generating yield
Out of Range:
- Your liquidity is not active in current price range
- You are NOT earning trading fees
- Your position converts entirely to one token
- No yield generation until price returns to range
Range Performance Indicators:
- Range Percentage: How much of your range is currently used
- Distance from Bounds: How close price is to range limits
- Range Width: How wide your range is (affects fee collection)
- Price Movement: Direction price is moving relative to range

Best Practices
Regular Monitoring:
- Check range status weekly or after major price movements
- Add rewards promptly to maintain accurate tracking
- Review position performance monthly
- Adjust ranges if frequently out of range
Range Management:
- Wider Ranges: Less maintenance, lower fees per trade
- Narrower Ranges: Higher fees per trade, more maintenance
- Market Conditions: Adjust range width based on volatility
- Gas Costs: Consider transaction costs when adjusting
Reward Tracking:
- Record rewards as soon as you claim them
- Include all reward sources (fees, tokens, airdrops)
- Use consistent USD valuations for accuracy
- Add notes to remember reward context
Position Optimization:
- Rebalance ranges based on price trends
- Combine positions if managing too many small ones
- Exit positions that consistently stay out of range
- Consider impermanent loss vs holding
