Portfolio - Defi Pools
The Pools tab allows you to discover, research, and manually add liquidity pool positions to your portfolio. This is where you can find DeFi yield opportunities and track your manual pool investments.
Pool Discovery
Pool List Features:
- Search Functionality: Find pools by symbol, project, or chain
- Sorting Options: Sort by APY, TVL, or other metrics
- Filter Options: Filter by network, project, or minimum APY
- Pagination: Browse through thousands of available pools
Pool Information Displayed:
- Pool Symbol: Token pair (e.g., ETH/USDC)
- Project: DeFi protocol (e.g., Uniswap, PancakeSwap)
- Chain: Blockchain network (Ethereum, Polygon, BSC, etc.)
- APY: Annual Percentage Yield
- TVL: Total Value Locked in USD
- Pool Type: Type of liquidity pool or yield farm
Adding Pool Positions
Step 1: Select a Pool
- Browse or search for pools in the main list
- Click on a pool to view detailed information
- Review pool metrics and risk factors
- Click "Add Position" to start adding
Step 2: Enter Position Details
Required Information:
- Position Size: USD value of your investment
- Entry Date: When you entered the position (optional)
Pool Range Configuration (for concentrated liquidity):
- Entry Ratio: The price ratio when you entered (Token A/Token B)
- Upper Range Percentage: How far above entry price your range extends
- Lower Range Percentage: How far below entry price your range extends
Additional Information:
- Notes: Any additional context about the position
- Current TVL: Pool's total value locked (auto-filled)
- Current APY: Pool's yield (auto-filled)
Step 3: Save Position
- Review all entered information
- Click "Save Position" to add to your portfolio
- Position will appear in your Positions tab
Understanding Pool Ranges
What are Pool Ranges?
Pool ranges define the price boundaries where your liquidity is active in concentrated liquidity protocols like Uniswap V3.
Range Components:
- Entry Ratio: The price ratio (Token A/Token B) when you first provided liquidity
- Upper Range: Maximum price where your liquidity is active
- Lower Range: Minimum price where your liquidity is active
- Current Ratio: The current market price ratio
Range Status:
- In Range: Current price is within your set boundaries (earning fees)
- Out of Range: Current price is outside boundaries (not earning fees)
- Range Percentage: How much of your range is currently utilized
Range Examples:
If you set ETH/USDC at entry ratio 2000:
- Upper Range +20%: Active until ETH reaches $2400
- Lower Range -20%: Active until ETH drops to $1600
- In Range: ETH price between $1600-$2400
- Out of Range: ETH price below $1600 or above $2400
Pool Management
Editing Positions:
- Click on any position in your Positions tab
- Modify position size, ranges, or notes
- Update entry date or other details
- Save changes to update your records
Deactivating Positions:
- Mark positions as inactive when you exit
- Inactive positions are hidden from main views
- Historical data is preserved for reference
Position Monitoring:
- Range indicators show current status
- Visual range bars display price position
- Automatic range status calculations
- Real-time price ratio updates
Pool Research
Key Metrics to Consider:
- APY Sustainability: Is the yield realistic long-term?
- TVL Stability: Is liquidity growing or shrinking?
- Protocol Reputation: Is the protocol well-established?
- Impermanent Loss Risk: How volatile are the token pairs?
- Fee Structure: What fees does the protocol charge?
Risk Factors:
- Smart Contract Risk: Protocol vulnerabilities
- Impermanent Loss: Price divergence between tokens
- Liquidity Risk: Ability to exit positions
- Token Risk: Individual token risks
Due Diligence:
- Research the underlying protocol
- Understand the token economics
- Check audit reports if available
- Monitor community discussions
- Start with smaller positions
Best Practices
Position Sizing:
- Start with smaller positions in new protocols
- Diversify across different chains and projects
- Don't put all funds in high-risk, high-yield pools
- Consider your overall portfolio allocation
Range Management:
- Set wider ranges for more volatile pairs
- Narrow ranges for stable pairs (higher fees but more risk)
- Monitor and adjust ranges based on market conditions
- Consider transaction costs when setting ranges
Regular Monitoring:
- Check range status regularly
- Monitor for protocol changes or updates
- Track actual vs expected yields
- Be prepared to exit if conditions change
Troubleshooting
Common Issues:
- Pool Not Found: Try different search terms or check spelling
- Outdated APY: Pool data updates periodically
- Range Calculations: Ensure entry ratio is set correctly
- Save Errors: Check all required fields are completed
Data Accuracy:
- Pool data comes from DeFiLlama API
- APY and TVL update regularly but may have delays
- Always verify information on the actual protocol
- Use app data as guidance, not absolute truth
